OT is not taxed as extra. It’s treated the same as regular time income as far as taxes are concerned.
The reason you probably think it’s taxed more is because the software your employer uses takes your OT paycheck and extrapolates that over the year causing more to be withheld. You’ll get it back at the end of the year.
Or if you don’t want to wait until the end of the year, you can lower your withholding but then you risk possibly owing something at the end of the year.”
